Gafar Liameed, the Proprietor of 36 Lion FC has explained why the organisers of “The Magnificent 8” or “Lagos Cage Fight” tournament splashed 35 million naira for the tournament, an among unprecedented even in some professional tournaments in Nigeria
The tournament is a semi-professional grassroots tournament to be held in Lagos and the winner of the tournament goes home with 20 million naira, the runner up wins 10 million while the third placed team wins 5 million naira
Liameed Gafar revealed that he is organising the tournament with Diamond Sports Management and it costs 50 million

The tournament is a three-day tournament that will involve 8 teams from 17th-20th October 2022
The 50 million will also include logistics for European scouts and other things. It is a cash cow for football stakeholders
