58 students have been selected by the Alex Otti Foundation as worthy recipients of a scholarship program for indigent undergraduate students who are resident in Abia State or are from Abia State
The scholarship scheme of the foundation aims to help indigent students with a proven outstanding academic record to pay their tuition. This scheme offers the selected students an annual one-off scholarship fund of N150,000 until they graduate.
The rigorous selection process passed through international consultants who went through the applications and shortlisted the successful candidates for the final stage of screening which is the oral interview and the authentication of their claims
In a press briefing with journalists in Umuahia, the CEO of the Alex Otti Foundation revealed that the 58 students were successful out of a pool of 700 students who applied from different tertiary institutions in the country. The beneficiaries of this year’s scholarship will join other beneficiaries of the Alex Otti scholarship scheme
The applicants should have Cumulative Grade Points Average of at least 3.5 for universities and 2.5 for polytechnics and monotechnics. They must also maintain the same CGPA to retain scholarship
The Alex Otti Foundation is a non-profit organization that extends opportunities to indigent members of society in education and entrepreneurship and it was founded by former bank Chief Executive and financial expert, Dr Alex Otti.
