Umuahia North came from one goal down to beat Ummuneochi 2-1 in the second quarterfinal of the Abia Governor’s Cup.
Umuahia North started the game with zeal and almost got ahead in the second minute through a freekick from Chigozie Nwoko but goalkeeper, Samuel George stretched to save the kick
Umunneochi took the lead through Onyebuchi Emenike after he got a cross from Onyebukam Chinonso who raced past his markers to lay a fine low cross to the winger
Umuahia North got back into the game after an own goal from Umunneochi
Umunneochi got the chance to double the lead in the 53rd minute when Onyebuchi Chidiebere was fouled in the box and Akachi Okoroafor missed the spot kick.
Umunneochi missed many clear chances to go ahead in the game and were later punished for their profligacy.
Umuahia North scored the winner in the 81st minute through a wonderful volley from Chinaza Felix. The impressive right back pounced on a lose ball after a corner kick and unleashed a ferocious volley past Samuel George
