As Enyimba prepare to take on Algeria’s Entente Setif on match day 4 of the CAF Confederation Cup in Algeria, versatile forward, Samson Obi has said the Aba elephant will go into the encounter with the mentality of winning the game.
According to him, Enyimba has a strong team expressing that anything can happen in the clash.
On the performance of the team against the Algerian side in Aba which they won 2:1 courtesy of goals from team captain, Austin Oladapo, and striker, Tosin Omoyele, the former Abia warriors striker noted that, despite the quality of the opposition, they were determine to win the game ‘‘It was good game for us we really show what we are made of, our opposition is a good side as well, they played well but we thank God we have the day’’
On his recent selection into the team which have seen him gathered more game time under coach Fatai Osho, Obi admitted that it was due to his Ceaseless training routine ‘‘I have been working very hard secretly without anybody knowing, hoping that one day I will be called to play’’
while stating his desire to play oversea, he acknowledged that at the moment he’s enjoying his game in Enyimba, ‘‘am really feeling great playing in the team and also showing what I have to the world; My target this season is to move to Europe’’
So far this season, Samson Obi has featured in Five NPFL matches and three CAF confederations game scoring once in Enyimba’s win against Sunshine Stars of Akure
Meanwhile, with Sundays victory over Setif, Enyimba have regained leadership of the Group A table with six points, one more than Orlando Pirates of south Africa who drew goalless with Libyan side Ahli Benghazi.
