RESOLUTIONS AT THE EXPANDED MEETING OF THE CLUB OWNERS, DIRECTORS OF THE LMC AND THE LEADERSHIP OF THE LEAGUE MANAGEMENT COMPANY HELD ON SATURDAY 20TH NOVEMBER 2021 AT INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS.
1- The meeting lauded the Budweiser/NPFL ALL STARS PROMOTION MATCH TAGGED “THE GAME OF KINGS” and commended the partnership for a well organized and colourful event to promote the two brands, seeking for greater collaboration going forward.
2- The Caucus meeting appreciated the NFF president and board members for their support to the LMC and the NPFL activities and programs.
3- The meeting received reports of the LMC Chairman on the Budweiser/ABInBEV partnership, Bet9ja and other prospective revenue streams being packaged to boost the financial inflows into the NPFL as well as an outline strategic plans to ensure the financial stability of the NPFL including details on efforts and process to recover debts owed LMC from sponsors/partners, attract new investments so as to enable LMC immediately meet all financial obligations and ensure smooth operations of the league.
4- The caucus meeting alongside the Directors of the LMC noted the nomination of Prince Davidson Owumi as LMC CEO Designate to replace Hon. Nduka Irabor, and urged the LMC legal office to perfect all formality processes in line with the LMC Governing Regulations leading to his ratification by the General Assembly of the LMC.
5- The meeting reviewed all proposals by the LMC for the smooth kick off of the 2021/2022 NPFL season and urged them to commence all forms of preparation towards the league resumption date subject to the ratification by the General Assembly of the NPFL. This includes but not limited to concluding on tentative match day calendar for the season and setting the fixtures and advise clubs immediately so all stakeholders can be prepared.
6- The meeting urged members of the Club Owners to work together as one indivisible body to promote the NPFL brand in order to attract investments, even as it okayed a reprimand to the Executive Director of MFM FC Barr. Davidson Adejuwon for his unguarded utterances and action seen as causing disrepute among members and disregard to the leadership and elders of the club owners Association.
7- The meeting okayed the proposal for the hosting of the LMC General Assembly meeting on 7th of December 2021 in Abuja to be preceded by the meeting of the club owners Association on 6th December 2021 in Abuja.
