Dino SC began their creative championship cup with a 2-1 defeat to Valiant FC

Valiant drew the curtain raiser through Abiodun Toheeb (18) but were pegged back through Ikechukwu Henry’s 21st minute spot kick.

Yusuf Zakariyya netted the winner for Valiant five minutes after the half hour.

Dino came on strongly late on and should have scored at least a leveller but were wasteful in front of goal.

The Valiant side did not take long to use the momentum as they constructed a classy opening goal on 18 minutes which was converted by Abiodun.

The lead lasted three minutes with Ikechukwu stepping up to net a brilliant penalty kick for Dino SC.

Although Dino were dominating possession, there was little between the teams in terms of threatening moments but it was the Valiant team that struck next on 35 minutes. Zakariyya swept home with class.

The Viliant keeper produced a spectacular one-handed save just before the break to deny Dino SC.

The Dino lads found rhythm to their play as they controlled proceedings with some fantastic possession football in the second stanza.

They could not find the leveller goal as Valiant defended in numbers.
