ABSU Law Faculty has been trending since yesterday for the wrong reasons. People have said all unpredictable things about that citadel of learning, even those who don’t know where the faculty is located.
I’m not here to talk about why the faculty is trending, but I’m here to correct a few things. I read people who said the faculty is churning out half baked lawyers, others said it has become an extension of Abia State Government house. There is no truth in all these. Please, people should learn to talk about what they know very well.
There are politicians who are studying law in ABSU, just like other professionals. A first class monarch just graduated from that faculty. Some popular pastors just graduated and others are still there. There are judiciary workers there, Journalists, entrepreneurs and even security operatives just to mention a few.
A politician applies and gains admission to study law, how does that make the faculty an extension of Government house?
Dino Melaye, Ifeanyi Ubah, etc just graduated from Baze University, will you say that has made Base an extension of the NASS?
You know nothing about ABSU Law Faculty and what it takes to graduate from there, ask people who has been there or those still there. I’ve compared that faculty’s year one legal method question paper with a federal University question paper on the same course. While that of the Federal University is asking “what is law” to year one Students, ABSU law Students start writing case questions from first year. Do you know what that means?
You see, ABSU Law Faculty, they are not churning out half baked lawyers. That faculty is one of the best (if not the very best) East of the Niger.
