The Super Falcons will be in action against USA in the first of two friendly games against the world champions. The US coach is excited about this game. Randy Waldrum may not be equally excited as some of his stars will be missing
We take a look at how the Falcons may line up in the absence of some of the regular faces. For record purposes, Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie, Onome Ebi, Ngozi Okobi, Halimatu Ayinde, MacLeans Chinonyerem, Francisca Ordega, Regina Otu, Peace Efih and Rita Chikwelu will be out.
In their absence, four outstanding Falconets players have been drafted into the team and this is a chance for them to fight for a place in the team. Abiodun Deborah, Rofiat Imuran, Tosin Demehin and Esther Onyenezide have all been invited.
In goal, Chiamaka Nnadozie is expected to start
At right back, Michelle Alozie will start while Osinachi Ohale will pair with Tosin Demehin and Glory Ogbonna will play from left back
In midfield, Christy Ucheibe will be at the base of midfield with Abiodun Deborah while Tony Payne will play just behind the strikers
In attack, Ifeoma Onumonu will start as centre forward while Ajibade will play from the right and Uchenna Kanu from the left
This might happen if Randy Waldrum chooses to play the 4-3-3 formation
From his last game against USA in the US Summer Series, it is possible he will play five defenders in a 5-3-2 formation. So he may play this way
Nnadozie in goal, Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Tosin Demehin, Akudo Ogbonna and Glory Ogbonna will play in defense
In midfield, Ucheibe will pair with Tony Payne and Ajibade while Kanu and Onumonu play as two strikers
Since the team might be defending for most parts of the game, they will need quick transition in order to get a chance at the US goal
The game will be live on NFF TV and on the NFF page on Facebook from 6pm
