Ogbonda Whyte has been appointed as the head coach of Confluence Queens on Wednesday in succession to Liadi Bashiru.

Whyte will be taking charge of the Lokoja based side for the second time, having had a stint with the team in the past.

The former Ibom Angels tactician has signed a contract that will link him with immediate effect until the end of the Nigeria Women’s Premier League season.

A number of names were linked with the job, but the management of the club led by Hon. Abdulmalik Isah opted for the ex-Cat gaffer.

The highly rated Whyte earned his spurs while at Ibom Angels. He is known to be as a dedicated and highly driven coach.

He has established a reputation for tactical acumen and his ability to rebuild teams.

Ogbonda Whyte is expected to bring his experience to the table for the ambitious team during the 2022/23 season. He has also been on the books of Rivers Angels and Royal Queens in the past.
