Sunusi Ibrahim has won his second top scorer award after scoring CF Montreal’s only goal at Vancouver Whitecaps in the Canadian Championship.

Sunusi Ibrahim scored three goals with one assist from four games as his side lost the Canadian Championship final to Vancouver Whitecaps at the BC place to become this season’s top scorer.

Brain White opened the scoring in the 57th minutes before Ryan Gauld increased Vancouver’s lead from the spot 8 minutes later.

Sunusi reduced the deficit for CF Montreal with a calm finish after he controlled a long pass before firing home.

Sunusi should had even the scores for CF Montreal late on but his late header crashed against the crossbar as Vancouver Whitecaps won her third Canadian Championship title.

With the goal, Sunusi Ibrahim becomes CF Montreal’s joint top scorer in the Championship after equaling Nacho Piatto on six goals.

CF Montreal will now turn their attention to their next MLS game at home to Minnesota United.
