Nigeria’s goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo has signed with Wolwalo Adigrat University, a club in the Ethiopian Premier League.

Wolwalo is making a strategic move to enhance their squad by bringing in the seasoned goalkeeper. The team has allowed 24 goals this season, and coach Tsegaye Kidanemariam believes that adding experienced players could be crucial for their survival in the league.

After completing his time with Sudanese club El-Merreikh, Ojo is now free to join any team and has agreed to a five-month deal with Wolwalo.

“I have high hopes for my time at Wolwalo,” Ojo stated.

“I had offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, but I chose Wolwalo because of its professional management.

“I am truly excited to be here; it’s an honor to wear the yellow jersey and represent Wolwalo. I am dedicated to giving my best for the club and its fans.”

“It’s a pleasure to join such a distinguished club, and I have felt a warm welcome from everyone since I arrived.”

“The opportunity to work hard in Ethiopia and help Wolwalo succeed is a significant motivation for me,” he added.

Ojo brings extensive experience to Wolwalo, having played for Giwa FC, Sunshine Stars, Abia Warriors, and Enyimba. His reliable performances have established him as a dependable goalkeeper.

He was part of Nigeria’s squad at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team secured a silver medal.
