Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Sunday Dare has vowed to make sure that Thomas Dennerby continues as the coach of the Super Falcons.

Dennerby led the Falcons to the next round of the Olympic qualifiers with a 3-0 defeat of Algeria.

Sources close the Swede tactician say the one time Swedish coach of the year left the side after the Algeria game and vowed not to return to the side because of what he termed “interference” in his job. Some of the issues highlighted were: taking his players to the African Games without his consent, changing his technical crew amongst others.

However, the proactive Sunday Dare who has so far been one of the best ministers in the new cabinet inuagurated by President Muhammadu Buhari has stepped into the matter. Mr Sunday said he has “personally stepped into the matter” in order to resolve the issue and get Dennerby back to work as the substantive coach of the Falcons.

The Nigerian Football Federation had quickly drafted Falconets coach, Christopher Danjuma and his assistant, Matthew Wemiwo to take charge of the team.

Bestchoice sports reported that the list of players invited to camp was not compiled by Thomas Dennerby as he left the country immediately he was sure the Falcons had made it to the next round.

Mr Dare said he has been briefed on the issue and hopes to resolve it soon
