Female football teams lock horns for Naija Ratels FC powered pre-season tournament in Makurdi

In a bid to promote and encourage female participation in sports, especially football, Naija Ratels FC, a female soccer team in conjunction with the Benue State Football Association have called for invitation for a pre-season tournament for female football clubs across the country. The tournament is aimed at promoting female football at the grassroots level and grow same to world stage to give the youths of the female gender a platform to express their talents both locally and internationally.

Naija Ratels FC is a female Football Club affiliated to the Benue State Football Association. The main objective of the club is to promote female football at the grassroots level and grow same to world stage to give the youths of the female gender a platform to express their talents both locally and internationally.

A statement signed by Barr Paul Edeh, Chairman/President of Naija Ratels, the pre-season tournament is scheduled to take place at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, the Benue State capital from 29th January to 2nd February 2020.
According to Barr Edeh, “The cardinal objective of the tournament is to provide the various teams the opportunity to compete amongst themselves in preparation for the upcoming season to enhance their capacity ahead of the season.

“It is, therefore, my pleasure to invite the various female football teams to participate in the Pre-Season Tournament scheduled to hold at the Aper Aku Stadium from 29th January to 2nd February 2020. Fixtures shall be drawn as soon as invited teams confirm participation while teams will be expected to arrive Makurdi on Wednesday 29th January 2020 and depart on 2nd February 2020. The Benue State Football Association has approved the use of the Aper Aku Stadium for the competition and shall ensure that the Referees Association officiate the various matches.

“On our part, we shall provide what is required to make the tournament a successful and memorable Pre-Season Tournament.”

He added that prizes to be won include: trophy, jerseys and medals.
Naija Ratels boss further stated that several teams have already registered for free to participate in the tournament while the door was still open for any club across the country that is willing to be part of the tournament if they register before 21st January 2020.
