Liverpool have finally broken a record that has lasted for 125 years. That is the record of never beating all the teams they meet in a single season in the Premier League. This followed their 2-0 victory over West Ham. Prior the game, Liverpool had beaten all Premier League sides this season, except West Ham.
There were concerns that Jurgen Klopp would not appear for the game or field a strong squad but he showed respect to West Ham and started some of his best legs.
Mohammed Salah converted from the spot in the 35th minute after Divock Origi was fouled in the box. Fabianski had no answers to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s sublime finish as Liverpool went ahead. All efforts by West Ham to come back to the game were unsuccessful as Liverpool held on to open a 19-point gap on the log as they look poised never to slip from the top.
Liverpool are currently the Champions League winners, Club World Cup winners, Super Cup holders and will add the Premier League to their trophy cabinet if they remain at the top to the end of the season
