Aba Sports Journalists(ASJ) meets with Abia state commisioner for Youths and Sports.

The Association of Aba Sports Journalist (ASJ), on Tuesday (November 10th 2020, paid a familiarization visit to the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Chief Emeka Ikwuagu.

The visit by the Aba sports journalist to the Abia state commissioner of sports was the first visit of the group to the commissioner, since his assumpion into office.

Delivering his speech, the leader of the delegation, Mr Tony Ademodi of MAGIC 102.9 FM Aba said their visit was to familiarise with the commisioner and his ministry, while also highlighting the fact that the state ministry Ministry of Sports, needs to carry the association along in its sports programmes, as the Aba Sports Journalists, are the ones disiminating Sports news and programmes in the commercial nerve center of the state.

He also highlighted that it was the groups first visit to any commissioner of Sports in the state, due to the rising need for synergy between both parties.

Responding, the Commisioner of sports Chief Emeka Ikwuagu thanked the Aba Sports Journalists for their visit, while also reaveling that it was important that his ministry identified with Sports Journalist in Aba.

He urged the Aba Sports Journalists to be steadfast in carrying out their duties and commended the group for their unity in trying to achieve their goals.

He also used the medium to inform them of the upcoming
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu pre-season football tournament, scheduled to kick off on November 15th 2020, at the Enyimba stadium, Aba, and urged them to help publicize the tournaments on those various media platforms.
