Abians particularly Christians have been charged to remain steadfast in God and show love and benevolence to all as they join their counterparts in Nigeria and across the globe to celebrate the 2021 season of Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ over 2000years ago.

The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu gave the charge in his Christmas Message to Abians, describing Jesus Christ as the incarnate
light of God Who comes to give love and hope to all who live in deprivation, brokenness and suffering.

The Deputy Governor noted that at Christmas, our lives are reawakened to the many ways in which Jesus Christ lights up the way and leads us out of darkness to a place of peace and security.

Sir Oko Chukwu added that Christmas is a moment of divine visitation when God visits and remains with His people through His Son Jesus Christ.He urged Christians to always see to it that they lead others to God through our God-filled lives and disposition.

The number two citizen of Abia State, while wishing Abians a happy and peaceful Yuletide and prosperous New Year, admonished them not to lose hope even in the face of the numerous challenges confronting the Nigerian Nation, adding that God through His Son Jesus Christ, the reason for the season will restore hope, peace and security in our country.
