Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia has commiserated with their Patron, Honorable Ginger Onwusibe, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly whose convoy was reportedly attacked on Sunday night and a policeman attached to him feared dead.
Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club, Coach John Obuh, who described the incident as harrowing, said the news came to him as a shock.
“We received the news of the harrowing incident that involved the convoy of our dear Patron, Honorable Ginger Onwusibe that claimed the life of a police officer and another injured with shock. Words cannot explain how sad we are at the moment”.
“While we thank God that our dear Patron was not found in the scene of the incident, our hearts and prayers are with the family of the slain police officer and those injured.
“I can imagine the emotional trauma the Honourable is going through at the moment, and on behalf of the entire Abia Warriors family I extend my sympathy to him.”
Honourable Ginger Onwusibe had on Sunday morning received a delegation of Abia Warriors management in his country home in Ntigha where he pledged his support to the club, after having a sporting chat with them.
