After a hugely successful 6th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon held today, 10th April, 2021 in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, rights owner of the event, Bukola Olopade has expressed readiness to improve in all spheres in subsequent editions.

Olopade who expressed satisfaction that against all odds, including the novel coronavirus, the event still went ahead with proper measures in place said it’s a norm at Nilayo Sports to review and improve after an event.

The former sports commissioner in Ogun state said “Without a doubt, with the restructuring, reorganization of adopting and adapting to the new covid-19 protocols, we have done well, this is an emotional achievement”.

“I assure you, I kid you not that tweaking and tweaking led to what you have seen today, the end product of what you have seen today is a work of almost twelve months and we are very proud of it”.

He noted that the next five races on the calendar of Nilayo Sports Management Limited in 2021 will be channeled towards becoming a precursor to the 2022 7th Access Bank Lagos City Marathon which promises to be a bang.

With a time of 02:15:0, Emmanuel Naibel of Kenya won the top prize in the male category to clinch the thirty thousand dollars prize money, while Meseret Dinke from Ethiopia was the first woman to get to the finish line in a record time of 2:28:51.
