Saturday, October 29 was a day of bliss and blush that will remain ever fresh in the mind of Akwa United striker Ikechukwu Nwani who scored the most important goal of his life when he tied the knot traditionally with his sweetheart Uju Jennifer Onyema in Umuofia village, Ohaji Egbema local government area of Imo State.

The marriage was first published on the social media platforms of the couple few weeks ago and the celebration of love between the two lovers was witnessed by family members, friends, professional colleagues, well-wishers including a strong delegation from Akwa United Football Club which was led by the assistant team manager Mr. Anietie Christo, Captain of the club Ubong Friday, assistant captain Denis Nya, Moses Effiong and Coach Akarandut Orok.

Nwani who previously played for Nasarawa United and Lori FC of Armenia, joined Akwa United in 2020 and was a key member of the Promise Keepers’ NPFL title winning team of 2021.

The striker stepped out in some style, beautifully dressed in white Agbada with a red cap, took his adorable heartthrob Uju who was elegantly dressed in red lace as they received their parental blessings.

Special prayers were offered for the couple while guests and colleagues wished them a blissful married life.

According to Mr Nwani, “today is the most amazing day of my life. Getting married to the love of my life and knowing that she loves me with her whole heart gives me great satisfaction and a positive and bright hope for our future together”.

Mr and Mrs Ikechukwu Nwani took time out to dance to some good tunes much to the admiration of their guests who presented gifts items to them.

They also posed and took some photographs with their guests and well-wishers who were also treated to assorted drinks and sumptuous meals.
