Anthony Joshua should be worried about by now about his weight after he and Andy Ruiz hit the scales in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, to know their weight, ahead of tomorrow’s clash. He will fight at his lightest weight in five years when he comes face-to-face with the man that surprisingly beat him I June, Andy Ruiz Jr.
Joshua weighed 237 pounds, which is 5 kilograms or 11 pounds lighter than when both boxers met in New York on June 1.
Boxing legend, Mike Tyson had warned Ruiz of the dangers of going into the bout lighter than Joshua and after the excercise, he weighed in 283.7 pounds and that means he is 15 pounds heavier than he was. Joshua weighed in at 237 pounds, which the lightest he has weighed in for a world title fight and 10 pounds lighter than he was in June. This is also his lowest in 5 years.
However, this development seem not to trouble Anthony Joshua who had already indicated his desire to come into the fight lighter in order to be more agile in the ring. Joshua even posted on his Twitter handle stating “no fear in my heart. No fear in my eyes. No fear in my mind.”
