Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has joined well-meaning Nigerians to mourn former veteran broadcaster and actor, Sadiq Daba who died on Wednesday, March 5, 2 021
The Vice President expressed sadness and said that “cock will no longer crow at dawn,” obviously alluding to one the Sadiq Daba’s popular movies
The veteran broadcaster battle with leukaemia for a long time and also got donations from Nigerians for his treatment abroad, unfortunately he could not make it. Daba was popular in the 1980s on the NTA network
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said that the late actor brought joy into the homes of Nigerians. Sadiq featured in many TV series, including ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’ and other movies. He was part of Kunle Afolayan’s October 1st and won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor for the role he played in ‘October 1’ as Inspector Waziri
The former Vice President further said that the former actor’s memory is a blessing
