President Muhammadu Buhari nominated Dr. Kingsley Isitua Obiora as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The President sent the name of Dr. Kingsley to Senate President, Ahmed Lawan for confirmation by the Senate.
President Buhari, in a letter to the Senate President, said the nomination was in accordance with section 8(1 and 2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act 2007. http://opr.news/s14a7cfc8200116en_ng
Dr. Obiora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin, and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan. He also has a Doctorate degree in Monetary and International Economics from the University of Ibadan.
When confirmed, he will replace Dr. Joseph Nnanna whose will retire on February 2, 2020
Dr Obiora is currently an Alternate Executive Director in the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC, in USA
