As the Flying Eagles get set to hit Niamey, Niger Republic for final preparation for the upcoming West Africa Football Union (WAFU) B Under 20 AFCON Qualifiers, FC ONE Rockets midfielder Daga Daniel has been handed a huge responsibility to serve as vice captain of the side.

The young midfielder who has lately been a key figure for the Indomitables impressed in camp and made the final cut for the tournament that serves as qualifier for the 2023 Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Daga will assist Enyimba defender Oluwatosin Adegbite who will captain the side.

The teenager will be hoping to break into the starting XI and be a key figure for Ladan Bosso’s side when the tournament starts from 7th to 20th May, 2022.

Daga has had a steady progression after featuring for Community Secondary Commercial School, Ibiaku Itam, Itu LGA of Akwa Ibom State in the principal’s cup last year, before he was snapped up by Carabana Academy, the nursery for FC ONE Rockets; and just months later got promoted to the Nigeria National League side.

He has started three NNL games this season with for Coach Emmanuel King’s side and will surely be missed while away with the Flying Eagles.
