Nigerian striker, Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva has been named the player of the year in the Belarusian women’s league. Emuidzhi plays for ZFK Minsk and has had a sterling season for Minsk, who are the biggest women’s club in Belarus.
Emuidzhi who scored 10 goals in the Champions League, ended the season on a high with a record of 44 goals. In one of the games of the season, she scored 7 goals in a game.
Minsk won the domestic treble and their third consecutive league triumph. They won the league in 2017, 2018 and 2019. They won the women’s cup and the super cup to complete their treble. http://opr.news/s15b8cc64191231en_ng
Most notable of her contributions to the club is her brace against FC Zurich in the round of 32 of the champions league to them send Minsk to their first ever round of 16 tie in the Champions League and they met Asisat Oshoala’s Barcelona.
She scored five braces and two hat-tricks for Minsk. She will remain at the club until September 2020.
Other Nigerians too have played for Minsk, the likes of Ijeoma Obi, Gift Atulewa, Onome Ebi and others.
