The Nigeria National League (NNL) match day two action kick-started on Friday and continues today with fixtures across all four groups in the two conferences.
One of such fixtures is the tie between motivated FC ONE Rockets and and Abia Comets in Umuahia by 4pm.
Rockets pipped Apex Krane 1-0 in Uyo last Saturday, thanks to Simon Daniel’s strike.
For the records, both sides are meeting for the third time with a win apiece from their first two meetings.
The Indomitables, as FC ONE Rockets are nicknamed, defeated Abia Comets 1-0 in Uyo in March last year with the goal scored by dazzling winger Abel Abba from the penalty spot.
Abia Comets replicated the same scoreline when both sides met in Umuahia in the reverse fixture.
The morale in the fold of FC ONE Rockets seems very high with the players determined to grab all three points in Umuahia and keep their perfect record intact.
Goalkeeper Christian Nwoke, captain Ugochukwu Obiri, Simon Daniel, scorer of last week’s goal, Abel Abba and Kuku Kingsley are some of the stars in coach Emmanuel King’s list for the Umuahia showdown.
Earlier, Emmanuel King spoke of his team’s intention to get better as the season progresses and equally expressed satisfaction with the players on ground.
“This is just the beginning. The players are okay and in little time, they will be near perfect”.
Captain Ugochukwu Obiri also expressed the team’s desire to stay on track.
“We will keep working. The coach has taught us a lot and we will put everything into practice to achieve our aim.”
The Umuahia Township Stadium hosts the encounter at 4pm today.
