Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidential
candidate, Dr. Christian Emeruwa was one of the two out of 11 persons cleared to contest for the September 30 NFF
presidential election who attended NFF Presidential Debate organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.
Dr. Emeruwa was the first to arrive at the debate which took place at Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Secretariat at Utako, Abuja before he was joined by the current FCT Football Association, Chairman Adams Mohammed Mouktar. They were the only two contestants out of 11 who attended.
Emeruwa revealed that having worked in the system, he knows what the problems are, adding that the job of the President is to run the administration and not to look for sponsors.
“Nigeria football must move away from analog system to computerised systems. I’ll bring expert to help train the trainers in Nigeria and we will introduce clearly defined policy that guides the engagement of NFF staff and board members”.
Meanwhile, nine other candidates for the NFF top post did not attend the debate, although details of why they failed to show up could not be obtained as at the time of this report.
