Flying Eagles striker, Emeka Chinonso says it is a dream come true to score for the national team. Emeka came on as a late substitute and made instant impact with a brilliant turn and play goal that sent the young Eagles to the semi-final.
“It’s a dream come true for me in my career scoring my first goal that gave us the ticket to qualify to the next round. I am super excited having been able to justify my call up in to the national team. It gives me so much reason to be highly motivated the more .
The Flying Eagles faced a stern challenge against the hosts who were on the brink of elimination and whose hope of staying in the competition was beating the Flying Eagles. Emeka said he knew it was a difficult task but the team had to do something extra.
“Though it was a difficult task facing the host Nation Morocco in last group stage match knowing full well the match was our ticket to the next round.”
He continued: “I am highly grateful to God for giving me such opportunity in life and also our head coach, coach Paul Aigbogun who kept on telling me I could achieve it, the technical crew and team mates who also believed in my abilities as well.”

“I told myself when I got in as a substitute that my job as a striker is to score goals and create chances for goals as well. I felt I must not let the team down, I had that notion that failure was not an option for me and it played out in the victory for us at the end of the game.”
He also has thoughts about consistency and that would excite coach Paul Aigbogun.
“My wish is to stay at a consistent high level of scoring more goals as we proceed in the competition. I want to be a consistent goalscorer.
