Super Eagles goalie switch allegiance to European giant

Nigeria first choice goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho has put pen to paper with Cypriot giant APEOL FC on 3-year deal from RC Deportivo. 

The super eagles first choice goalie made the switch after being shipped out on loan severally from Spanish parent club who he has been with since 2017 and has only manage two appearance with the first team but had a lot of playing with the B team.

Uzoho made his first team appearance in La Liga on 15 October 2017, starting in a 0–0 away draw against SD Eibar at the age of 18 years and 352 days, he became the youngest ever foreign goalkeeper to debut in La Liga, and the second-youngest player to appear in the league during the campaign, only behind Real Madrid ‘s Achraf Hakimi.

The 21 year old goalie was not given active playing time and was loaned to Segunda Division side, Elche before taking another loan spell at Anorthosis Famagusta. After spending six months at Famagusta, the Nigerian goalie returned to Deportivo, but was sent on loan again this time around to Omonia Nikosia.

His last game for Super Eagles came against Brazil in October 2019 he suffered a ligament injury in an international friendly match and was in goal in the final 3rd place match in Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt 2019

Uzoho’s will link up with his new club this August, they finished third last season on the final League table and they will be preparing themselves for next term’s Champions League.
