The management of Gateway United FC condoles with Shooting Stars Sports (3SC) over the demise of its General Manager, Rasheed Balogun who passed away on Thursday 20th January, 2022 after a protracted illness.
In a condolence message to the club, the acting General Manager Niyi Soleye described him as an excellent football administrator who contributed immensely to football development particularly in the South western part of the nation.
“Gateway United expresses grief over his death. We are yet to come to terms with the pass of jolly good fellow like Rasheed Balogun. What a sudden loss. Our condolences to Shooting Stars Sports club, an outfit he served till his last breath meritoriously and his family. His passing has thrown Nigerian football community into mourning because he was a great man”
“His contribution to football development particularly in the south west cannot be forgotten. He was a talent developer, an ardent lover of grassroots football and a great administrator. No one saw this coming. But it’s the Almighty that giveth and also taketh. We will take solace in his good deeds and the legacy left behind. May the Almighty Allah give the club and his family fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and accept his soul into aljanah firdous. Rasheed sun re oo” he concluded.
