Enyimba FC returned to winning ways with a vital home win in the NPFL. Godwin Emmanuel’s professional debut goal for Enyimba gave the People’s Elephants victory over a determined 3SC in a week six NPFL game in Aba.

Enyimba came into the game after losing their last two games and were on a journey of redemption. The People’s Elephants started pressing for an early goal and Ekene Awazie came close to getting that in the 5th minute but he missed a good chance after connecting to good cross from Chigozie Obasi. Obasi came close with his trademark freekick in the 9th minute but his long range effort was saved by Charles Tambe

Enyimba dominated the game but could not penetrate the defense of the visitors and Victor Mbaoma came close in the 21st minute but the impressive Charles Tambe tipped his effort over the bar

3SC got their first real chance in the 29th minute when Dare Olatunji broke free from midfield and moved close to the Enyimba box and shot on goal but Ojo Olorunleke was on hand to get his effort. Enyimba had a late first half surge but failed to get a goal

The introduction of AbdulWasiu Mahmud added impetus to the Enyimba attack. Austin Oladapo returned to a rousing reception from the fans as he replaced Fatai Abdullahi in the 63rd minute. His first touch on the ball was a long range freekick which was saved by Charles Tambe

Godwin Emmanuel broke the deadlock in the 86th minute when he connected to Wasiu’s cross and guided the ball home.
