Nigerian Professional Football League outfit, Heartland Football Club of Owerri have secured the signing of Jewels Football Academy teenage striker Ogbebe Odikemma Hezekiah.
The 18-year-old striker penned a two year contract with the Naze Millionaires on 16th December 2021 at the club’s administrative office to sign the contract.
The Enugu-State-born striker broke out with Jewels Football Academy early this year having joined in February where he painted the playing turf of Community Secondary School Ohanze with avalanche of goals.
Reacting to this development, the Technical Adviser, Jewels Football Academy, Coach Chinedu Obasi Okezie spoke shortly after the deal was completed
“I am not surprised about Ogbebe’s new adventure, it is a justification of the hardwork he was subjected to ever since he joined the academy. He is daring to be great as the motto of the academy implies; ‘Dare To Be Great’, and I’m stating confidently that he is not in Owerri to make up numbers, he will be a force to be reckoned with in Heartland’s attacking force. I wish him the very best.”
Though it is his first taste of professional football, Ogbebe Odikemma will not allow himself to be daunted by the step up to the professional ranks, and going by his present state of form, banging in goals for the Naze Millionaires is already seen as a feasible feat for the goal-friendly striker.
