Heartland FC of Owerri Defensive Midfielder, Puma Prince Paul has expressed optimism that the Owerri-based side will seal the promotion ticket to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The midfield maestro, whose imposing physical presence in the middle of the park for Heartland, was a key figure for his team’s unbeaten run in the Nigeria National League.
According to him, the techical crew led by Coach Christian Obi has done marvelously well to ensure the team finish on a high adding that the support of the Imo State government was equally instrumental.
While assuring fans of the side of their desire to seal the promotion ticket to the NPFL, he noted that the spirits are high going into the Super 8 tourney.
His words: “We actually worked really hard and all thanks to the governor and the technical crew most especially Coach Christian Obi.
“We actually believe we are not settling for less during the Super 8 and we are prepared mentally, physically and otherwise for the Super 8.
“Thanks to the entire management and our supporters that has been with us all through the unbeaten regular season. We are taking same mentality into the Super 8.”
Paul, who played four matches in the regular 2022/2023 NNL season for Heartland, was part of their sucess story in the Federation Cup where he played four matches despite losing to Bendel Insurance in the quarterfinals.
