With years of dedication to the University of Ilorin team, two players players have created a bit of history for themselves as they finally bowed out of colligate football with their heads held high.

From the days of Suraj Ayeleso (now with Plateau United), Akeem Audu (ex ABS and Kwara United), Adams Jesse (Swan Selected) and a host of others, The University of Ilorin have not an influx of young talented players just as they have them now.

And it was not surprising that these young chaps took the world of colligate football by storm as they were almost invisible despite the politics in our football.

With the just concluded HiFL season (2022), two important players from the Coach Isiaka Baba Gambari led warriors will call it quits from the team.

These players have over the years shown their undiluted dedication to the rebirth of the University Football Team and it will be hard to say good.

First of both is Kadiri Adeshola Adegboyega, An Electrical Engineering students who’s long time ambition is to be a pro player.

”As a young boy, my dream is to play football to the highest level as I thought I would never be possible”.

“Unilorin gave me a platform in which I will forever be grateful for and as a young lad my dream is to play to the highest peak of world Football, he concluded”.

Kadiri Adeshola Adegboyega Won Silver at the 2018 Jamb competition, Gold at the NUGA games and also came fourth in the just concluded higher institution football league (HiFL).

For Ogungbenro Mustapha it was an emotional farewell to the young man popularly known as Zico Jr when he was substituted in the third place loss to UNN in Lagos.

Pinpoint, pacey and with the dribbling skills of Brazilian poster boy Neymer Jr, one will not be surprised if you see Zico playing for the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and the Inter Milans of world Football as he has all it takes to excel at the very top.

“I have chosen this football as my career and I have determination and dedication towards it as I believe in myself that I can do better if I have the opportunity to go far with this career I’m done with my Education now and university competitions so I look forward to a new challenge in this career, he concluded”

Twice in the team of the season of the HiFL, Zico has been somewhat of a life wire for the warriors in the past three years or so and it will draw a major concern for Coach Isiaka Baba Gambari in years to come.

Jamb 3 goals in 4 games.

In 2022 alone Unilorin Warriors have managed to Chun out some impressive results tho winning the NUGA Football Event and coming fourth in the just concluded HiFL in Lagos.

Whatever it is, it is not a goodbye for the boys but We shall see you boys in higher places.
