Head Coach of Dakkada FC Umar Danlami Kwasau could not hide his delight over the team’s return to their home ground after playing six straight matches away from home though three were home ties played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
Recall Dakkada FC were banished to Benin City following the incident of January 2 where assistant coach at the time Sunday Etefia slapped a match official in their 1-1 draw against Remo.
The Chosen Ones were fined and banished to play their next three home games in Benin and upon completion of the punishment made a triumphant return to Uyo on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Kano Pillars – a situation that delights head coach Umar Danlami.
“Home sweet home”… We are all delighted to come back home. The pressure is not there because all those games are just like away games.
“We are really happy to come back to see our fans and give them something to cheer about”.
Musa Bashiru’s late tap in six minutes from time after Pillars goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo spilled Unwana Asuquo’s powerful free kick secured the 1-0 win for Dakkada FC and took them from 18th to 16th on the NPFL log with 12 points from 11 matches.
