Oluwasegun: NFPL is more physical, stronger and tasking than most European leagues.

Uncapped Nigeria international, Oluwasegun Olalere Oluwatobiloba who is presently plying his trade with Nigeria top league side Warri wolves, believes that the Nigeria Professional Football League is more difficult than many European leagues.
The Lagos State born defender stated this in a recent interview.

“Nigeria Professional Football League is so different, the difference is massive than the other leagues I’ve played in, it’s not like the leagues I’ve played in Europe and it’s not like the amateur one or pro here in Nigeria, the difference is clear, you have to play with passion, you’ve to play with your power, you’ve to play position and everything you have, so it’s not a joke.”

When asked if he stand a chance to play for the Super Eagles, he quickly responded with confidence by saying, “I don’t think I’ve a chance, I know I’ve a chance and am hundred percent sure I’ve a chance.

“Football is all about potential and all you can do. I know I can do more than players occupying my position.” He concluded.

The defender who started from an academy called Clique sports in Lagos, then travelled to Turkey and got screened with NK Celik from Bosnia, later signed for FC Shkupi in Macedonia because he was picked by both teams but the clubs were owned by the same president.

Oluwasegun later came back to Nigeria and captained an amateur club called Zenith emperor before joining the Delta based club. He has proven to be versatile and has been deployed both in left-back and in central defence.

Arguably one of the most influential left back in the league so far this season before the league was suspended due to the ravaging corona virus pandemic, he has been able rack up eleven appearance this current campaign. The versatile defender has risen to the new era of contemporary football modernity in accordance with coach Ogenyi’s strategies and philosophy.

While there is still improvement to be made, his defensive duties has greatly developed and has been solid in combating attacking treat.

Warri wolves are not totally safe from relegation waters, where they are three points adrift the drop zone, with nine victories, six draws, and nine defeats after twenty four games played.
