Dream team’s sterling midfieder, Kelechi Nwakali, has expressed hope of seeing Tammy Abraham in the Eagles.
He thinks a partnership of Victor Osimhen and Tammy Abraham in a 4-4-2 formation for the Eagles would be a lethal combination against any team.
“Imagine a Super Eagles team playing 4-4-2 with Osimhen and Tammy Abraham upfront.”
He really got fans thinking. Tammy is a Nigerian by birth and an English man by citizenship.
Tammy Abraham is the leading scorer in the English Premier League with seven goals for Chelsea. Tammy scored a hatrick against Wolverhampton Wanderers and that has got fans and the media talking to and he has gained the confidence of Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard.
Tammy Abraham is eligible to play for Nigeria and England as he has not been capped for England in a competitive game. With Gareth Southgate leaving him out of the English squad recently, there are agitations that the Nigerian Football Federation should give him an a call-up to the national team.
Efforts by NFF President, Amaju Pinnick to get him to play for the Eagles did not yield the expected result as the young star is poised to make his international debut for England in a competitive game.
On his part, Victor Osimhen has been a shining light in France for Lille as he has scored five goals for the French side, thereby winning the player of the month of August award. Osimhen was pivotal to the success of the national U23 team en route the U23 African Cup of Nations.
Nwakali on his part had a commanding performance in midfield for the dream team and was given a standing ovation when he was substituted in the team’s 5-0 whitewash of Sudan in Asaba.
He also believes his time will come as he sets his sight on playing in the Super Eagles
