Labour Party has come to stay in Abia State and in nigeria, those were the words of the Labour Party Aba South State constituency candidate Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa.
He made the comment in an interview with the media shortly after he was issued the Labour Party flag at the official declaration of Dr Alex Otti’s gubernatorial candidacy, on Thursday the 10th of November 2022 at the Ngwa High School field Osisioma Aba.
When asked how he feels receiving the flag he replied: “I must say I feel elated, it’s a territory that I know very well and I think Labour Party has come to stay in Abia State and we will correct the ills that have been done by other parties”.
Hon. Emeruwa also had a few words on the Gubernatorial candidate Dr Alex Otti and The Presidential Candidate Mr Peter Obi: “Before now I didn’t know much about him but now I have studied the man closely and we are working together. I now know what he stands for, I know he will take this state to a better level knowing his pedigree, he is a person of integrity and I think he is a very serious person when it comes to business, I think he will transform the economy of the state and lead us to where we are supposed to be”.
Hon. Emeruwa also eulogized Mr Peter Obi the presidential candidate: “I think it’s a divine thing that he left PDP for Labour Party where he can exercise his expertise and inner self which is prudence, the ability to spend money wisely and judiciously, if he was a president under PDP he may not perform effectively, he is someone who is ready to use our economy to grow our economy, he is someone who is ready to take Nigeria from the doldrums of poverty to riches”.
He also assured the voters of his intentions to represent his constituency very well: “many of the Aba people knows what I believe in, I believe in things that are straight and legal, and that is what am will be taking to the legislature, I will make sure that the governor works, I will make sure that laws are obeyed and I will legislate for food productions, health care and education”.
The occasion had in attendance The Labour Party presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi, The Vice Presidential Candidate Mr Yusuf Datti, party chairman Mr Julius Abure, Abia State gubernatorial candidate Dr Alex Otti and a host of other dignitaries.
In their separate speeches, Dr Alex Otti assured Abians of his readiness to transform the State from its current sorry state to an enviable level.
Mr Peter assured the people of his readiness to secure, unite and reclaim Nigeria, he also declared his intentions of making Aba reclaim its lost position as West Africa’s hub of trade, commerce and industry. He also urged Abians to vote Dr Alex Otti and every other Labour Party candidate in the upcoming elections.
