Ekiti United FC head coach Kehinde Anjorin has expressed optimism over the team chances of making it into the Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8 playoffs this season.
Ekiti United kept alive their Super 8 finish hopes with a 2-1 win over Abeokuta Stomers SC over the weekend at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
Anjorin, while speaking with the EUFc media said that the team deserve to win the game.
“It was a deserved win for us,” said Anjorin
“We didn’t give them the space to control possession of the ball in the first half and that helped us in getting our goals.”
The gaffer also insist that the focus now for the team is on the next game and to maintain their hopes of Super 8 spot.
“The objective is to maintain this tempo, because finishing top of the group for Super 8 is our main target and we can’t let this chance slip out of our hands.
“Sunday game against FC Ebiedei is a vital one for us. We know it won’t be an easy game in Sagamu, but my boys are up to the tasks,” Anjorin concludes.
Ekiti United are currently placed third in the B3 Southern Conference standing with 10 points from six games played, with a tricky away trip to FC Ebiedei in a matchday 7 encounter on Sunday in Sagamu, Ogun State.
