Abia Angels football club of Umuahia, are prepared for the upcoming Nigeria women professional league (NWPL) after series of pre-season games against top clubs who also compete in the women league. The games involved Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Queens, Ibom Queens and other clubs within the state to put them in top shape. New players were recruited to strengthen the team for the new season.
The team under the tutelage of former Super falcons goalkeeper, Coach Ann Chiejine will play in group D with clubs like: Ibom Queens of Uyo Invisible Angels of Gboko. Confluence Queens of lokoja.
