Nigerian Professional Football League’s most successful side Enyimba Football Club of Aba have secured the services of Uche Franklin from Jewels Football Academy.
The central defender put pen to paper on a 3-year deal today after having shown some flashes of brilliance for the Aba-based side in their ongoing preseason duels, convincingly providing the club’s hierarchy with the confidence to have him become a bonafide member of the team going into the 2021/2022 NPFL season.
The 18-year-old centre back who boasts solid defensive fundamentals alongside a knack for goal-bound interceptions, regularly thwarting forwards with a combination of agility, determination and strength, is a delight to watch.
He honed his craft in Jewels Football Academy after arriving in 2019 from a local side in enugu and subsequently formed a formidable partnership with fellow defensive stalwart Jonadab Nwakamma who recently joined another top NPFL outfit, Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia.
Reacting to this development, the technical adviser of Jewels Football Academy, Coach Chinedu Obasi Okezie expressed delight in this affirmative
“Uche has proven to the world that he is ripe for the NPFL by joining the country’s most successful side Enyimba FC, I’m very confident that this new challenge will unlock potential that are yet to be seen in him, Enyimba is a good destination for him as a young lad, because the new philosophy now in Enyimba encourages the young system, so I wish him well in this new adventure”.
Uche’s rapid rise have brought him to the attention of a broader footballing audience, and his maturity and creativity at the back will ensure an increasing number of admirers going into the new NPFL season.
