Mr. Oludare Davies has been inaugurated as the pioneer President of the Egbeoba High School (EHS), Ikole Ekiti 1990-1991 set old student association.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at the Egbeoba High School Hall, Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State on Saturday.
Mr Davies in his inagural speech thanked the 1990-1991 set old school association for finding him worthy and to have bestowed upon him the pioneer President to lead the school Alumni.
“It is with great pleasure and utmost humility that I am here in your presence to physically and officially accepted the responsibilities and mandate that you have bestowed upon me as the pioneer President of our esteemed association.
“I am deeply honoured to see that my fellow students of our beloved Egbeoba High School felt me worthy to lead them into this new dispensation in the life of our old school.
“This position, I understand it will require mending of fences and outreach to one and all – bringing us all together for the primary purpose of strengthening our forces for both individual and collective growth.
“My primary focus is to build a unified force for the development of our Alma Mater and personal growth as well as the fulfilment of those students that pass the formative environment of our school. As you will all recall, EHS was one of the most admired school of our days,” read the inaugural speech.
Mr Davies said his administration would work specifically to achieved the registration of the association with the CAC to further the mission and vision of the association and provide legal bases for the reunion; provide projects and programs specially focused on the of the current students and the improvement of the structure in the school to improve learning which we have started already and liaise with members of the alumni and develop mentorship program that will further improve the student growth.
“Talk is cheap but we have a huge assignment ahead of us, history placed in our hands great responsibility and consequently this will require high level of commitment from all of us to drive this vision.
“This can only happen if we walk our talk, in this regards our time, effort and resource will be required to take this association to the next level.”
Present at the inauguration were the National President EHS, Prof. Femi Omotosho who was the keynote speaker, Board of Trustees of EHS, 1990-1991, EHS 1990-1991 EXCOS, Principal of EHS, Albert O. Adegite, Current teachers, old student, EHS 1978 set, current student, traditional leaders and pressmen.
