Veteran journalist and Chairman, Organizing Committee of Jagaban Cup, Mr Wale Joseph briefed the Media on Sunday night: “The scouts were happy with the standard that they saw in the two previous editions and believe there are many untapped potentials in Nigeria.”
“Clubs have expressed their readiness to play the competition because of the opportunities and exposure it brings to the table. We have already mapped out plans to surpass the successes recorded in the past editions.
“The aim of Jagaban Cup is to provide opportunities for players to excel in their careers and take the next steps to success. We did well to mobilize the youths to the previous editions. They are excited to be part of this year’s event due to the trust they have in us.
“Football is a unifying factor for the Nigerian youths. The feedbacks we got have been massive. The fans want to enjoy the feeling of the Jagaban Cup and we are excited to ignite the good feeling,” he added.
Mr Wale Joseph went on to thank the Lagos State Football Association headed by Hajj Olawale Gafar Liameed, for providing grassroots teams with the opportunity to participate in the scouting tournament and of course, providing the lads with the platform to be discovered and exposed.
In addition to outstanding talents being scooped by international scouts, prizes and awards will be doled out to deserving players. All matches will be streamed live by Sports247.
