Appreciates Head Coach, Mbwas Mangut for Fatherly Role…

Plateau United full-back, Harrison Ebah has expressed excitement after scoring his first Nigeria Premier Football League goal in the 3-2 win over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

In an exclusive chat, Ebah, who scored the opening goal after just three minutes, before Albert Hilary and Nenrot Silas scored to ensure the win, said it was even more fulfilling to score in the city he was brought up (Kaduna).

“It was an emotional moment for me. Scoring my first NPFL goal is something I dreamt of since joining Plateau United, and to have scored it in Kaduna makes it even more special. I feel really fulfilled, and hopefully I can strive to score goal number two, and three, and even more.”

The former FC ONE Rocket defender was also full of praise for Plateau United head coach, Mbwas Mangut for the believe in him right from pre-season and into the league. Ebah described him as a father.

“This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without my coach and father (Mbwas Mangut). From my first day in training to the Gusau/Ahlan pre-season tournament in Bauchi, he has always believed in me and has given me the game time to show what I can offer. I sincerely thank him for his guidance. Everytime I step on the pitch to play, I tell myself that I can’t disappoint him because he trusts in my ability to help the team.”

When asked about how settlement into one of the best teams in the league has been like, Ebah said it has been easy because of the love around the camp of the Peace Boys.

“I’ve found it easy to settle here, because we are one big family. The senior players like Daniel Itodo, Golbe Elisha, Charles Henlong, and the rest have been accomodating. The younger players too have been very free with me. It is a good atmosphere both in training and during matches. The management too has also done its part to ensure that we are united.”

The Ikon Allah Academy product has made 11 appearances for Plateau United this season – failing to feature in only one game – the 1-0 away loss to Gombe United on November 28.

Plateau United host Bayelsa United on Sunday at the Jos International Stadium, and Ebah is expected to be part of the squad for the fixture.
