Nigerians woke up to the shock that the national electric grid is down. The IBEDC released a statement to that effect and this has obviously not gone down well with Nigerians. There is total blackout in various parts of the country and this situation is made worse by the strike by Electricity workers.

Nigeria is also trending because of President Buhari’s announcement that other African countries can come to Nigeria without Visa from 2020.

Twitter is agog as Nigeria and Nepa are trending. Here are some reactions

“Congratulations President Buhari of Nigeria who announced a complete visa exemption for all Africans. Starting January 2020 Africans will be able to arrive in Nigeria without visas. A borderless Africa will become a reality in our lifetime

Why is Nigeria like this, leaving pressing issues of NEPA, ASUU, Oga Major General and arguing about Rudeboy and Mr P Jesus wept, but me I wept more

In my country named Nigeria one day Nation union of electricity employees (NUEE) (Nepa or Phcn or Ibedc or whatever) decided a nationwide blackout because of an industrial action. To me this is nothing but an absolute disgrace. Shame on Nigeria, Yes i said it.

35years ago today, NEPA set a 1986 deadline to eradicate blackouts in Nigeria

That deadline elapsed 33years ago and we are still stuck in a spot

Our forefathers shouted UP NEPA, today we are shouting up NEPA & our children already learned the ugly language

Africans No Longer Need Visa To Enter Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari Announces At a Summit In Egypt Open Africa Borders has taken another small step forward?

This memorandum by NUEE is so disappointing & disheartening. Since yesterday I noticed that there is a total blackout through out Lagos, Nigeria.

I am in doubt if truly the power sector NEPA was privatized or it was just a scam to rob the poor masses huge inflated charges?. http://opr.news/s1bb8dd81191213en_ng

This national strike/grid malfunction had me deveining shrimps in the afternoon instead of researching about some story ideas, because freezer has started losing ice.

Already Nigerians are experiencing the end of the world total darkness. because Nepa as gone on strike, If you don’t have light comment your area.

Me:Lemme use my 43% to watch film NEPA would bring light in the night
Me: at 1am opens Twitter, sees that nepa has gone on strike.”
