Sunshine Stars Of Akure Midfield maestro Adebayo Waheed Ajare has disclosed his love for Portuguese Star Cristiano Ronaldo.
He said this in an online interview with newsmen on Monday night.
The stocky midfield gem who was a former player of MFM said growing up he has always wanted to be a professional football player and his motivation in the game has always been to make himself, his family and country proud.
Speaking on the development of the league on the commemoration of it’s 30 years anniversary he said “our league has not been so encouraging I remember those days when I go to watch games at the stadium in my hometown of Ilorin I get so annoyed with the officiating though in the last few seasons their have been an improvement, teams now win matches both home and away and then referees a now doing a better job”
When asked about the professional nature of the league Ajare said “the league is tough that any player who does well here should not find it difficult to succeed elsewhere”
He advised the LMC to Find an avenue to reduce the excessive travels the teams embark on th while trying to honour a league match o the road.
He also said that late Chinedu Udoji & Ifeanyi Anaemena are the toughest defensive dou he have ever played against.
On how he prepares before every league match he said “I pray and listen to music before every league match”
He also discouraged the LMC from handing the league title to Plateau United as that will amount to injustice as some teams still have outstanding fixtures.
He expressed his displeasure on the inability of the league to be on TV as something that is not of any help to the players and the Clubs.
When asked if he dreams of taking his game abroad he said “yes, am seriously planning and hoping for that, I will like to take my game to Spain or Belgium.
On the Nigerian greatest footballer of all-time he said “to me it got to be Austin Jay Jay Okocha ”
Waheed Adebayo Ajare is an Arsenal fan and sees Cristiano Ronaldo as his role model.
