Former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has given the recipe for Enyimba to reclaim their lost glory.
Under the watchful eyes of Orji Uzor Kalu, Enyimba became the toast of all in Nigeria and the African continent.
Enyimba won the CAF Champions League in 2003 and 2004. They were also crowned Nigeria Professional Football League title.
In recent years, support from the Abia State Government hasn’t really been impressive compared to what was applicable in the past.
“Repackaging is a collective business of the Abia State Governor and the Government. They are sole owners of Enyimba,” Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stated on foremost WhatsApp Forum NSM on Wednesday.
“The Governor needs to make up his mind the club get back on track. He needs to spend sometime with them, have passion and spend money. With all these Enyimba will come back on track.”
The well respected OUK shed more on his involvement in football management.
“I floated one in the past. Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK) Babes now Abia Warriors was my personal club. When I left Abia State Government changed the name.”
“As time goes on I will take over the club from the State Government.”
“It’s difficult in this hard times and security issue to float a club. Covid-19 and the rest are problems.”
“When I was Governor, Enyimba Stadium was usually filled up. The money made from gate takings is enough to run the club.”
