Flying Eagles wing maestro, Success Makanjuola is bullish that the Flying Eagles will correct and put their past mistakes behind when they go head to head with the rest of Africa at the 2019 All African Games. Success, who has been a revelation in the team spoke to the media shortly after the team’s evening training session on Wednesday.
“I think we just need to do better than before because we know we really tried our best but it was not enough. Now, we have gone back to the drawing board, trying to see what we can do to make Nigerians proud. We are back now to correct our mistakes.” http://www.bellsnews.com/sports/fifa-expands-womens-world-cup-to-a-32-team-tournament/
With his decent show at the world cup in Poland, one wonders why he has not moved to a club outside the country. However, Success says everything is under control. He is not just interested in the money, but also in player development.
“Everything is going according to plan, we are working very hard. You know, as a young player, I need to go to a team that will develop me mentally and physically, not just to go to any team for transfer’s sake. My agent is working very hard to make sure I go to a team that will develop me to be able to represent Nigeria well.”
The Water FC of Abuja player further expressed confidence in the ability of the team which has five players that were dropped from the world cup squad to impress “I know this team we have now, they are capable of making Nigerians proud. Even the last team, we just lacked one or two things and I think the coaches have figured it out and now they have put it into place. I know this team, we are going to make Nigerians proud.”
The Flying Eagles hope to redeem their image and earn the trust of Nigerians after a disapointing world cup and one player they can rely on is Makanjuola.
