NFF Presidential candidate, Christian Emeruwa says Nigerian football needs to be salvaged. The CAF head of security and FIFA security expert said this in a series of tweets
He noted that Nigerian football is on the path of total collapse and must be saved immediately.
“We need to work very hard to savage our football from total collapse. Now is the time to reflect on what we want and how we can achieve it in all this I believe that the tested hands that have excelled as professionals from nigeria and globally does not come cheap.
Nigeria football deserves the best. The people, the players, the entire stakeholders can’t wait to witness this change.”
Emeruwa noted that Nigerian football is divided among many lines and thinks that it is time to come together in order to accommodate all groups and harness strength of diversity
“Nigeria football is big enough to accommodate all interest groups rather than divide we must come together to harness our strength and diversity.
Our leagues are priority they need to be supported to grow. Our state football association need massive investment and support to kick start a nation football development programme”.
He further talked about the referees and the need to protect the umpires from physical attacks at match venues and to train them and the coaches and the need to build grassroots football
“Our referees must be protected and trained and our coaches needs to be given the opportunity to access modern training grassroots development programmes needs serious attention and support and this takes us back to collaboration with our educational sport entities
Football is a science and we need to harness the potentials of various research in enhance our performance in all areas
Nigeria awaits the rebirth of our football and I have offered to provide the leadership for this new direction let’s get to work and move our nation forward”
