As much as I agree that Yul Edochie took this one prank a little too far, I get the whole hag of this thing, totally.

I recall the 2019 polls and how most Nigerians reacted to the news of his presidential bid, especially on social media.

“Wetin dis one dey find?”, “Oga go back to your acting o”, “your Papa never contest na you wan contest”, came the responses from Nigerians (sadly, especially the youths).

We never took him serious. Suddenly, we heard “bad news” on a subject that has defied age and time, and like flies around faeces, we stuck to the story of his “alleged infidelity”, waiting for new updates to DRAG HIM further into the mud.

Nigerians! We herald chaos, negativity, and thrive on mischievousness. I’m rather happy for the few (like myself), who still nursed feelings that this could all have been a hoax. Because let’s face it, Yul is the “definition” of a gentleman. We’ve carried this image of him for years, one that his revered father, Pete, has never questioned. At least not publicly.

Suddenly coming out to criticize his own son on a matter he ‘should’ be dealing with privately, for me was a no-brainer. I think that’s the point (Pete Edochie’s alleged statement condemning Yul) I decided this was a publicity stunt.

Now, he’s come out to clear the air and maintains it was a prank (jury still out on this though – my thoughts), still, WE STILL WANT TO DRAG!

That’s absurd! The same way most of us were quick to castigate him for “making choices that didn’t conform to our beliefs”, let’s also shut our traps now, knowing he never ‘DID THE CRAP’ we accused him of.

It was just “intended Polygamy” in action and we acted like he killed someone, forgetting that this culture is largely obtainable in the present world in other climes.

A PRANK, my dear, IS A PRANK! Nothing like Prank gone too far.

Weeks back, in this same country, and at a time of rising insecurity, a young lady pulled a fake kidnap stunt that got the entire nation on its toes.

What have we heard about her today? Nothing. The case don die (because na woman). Abeeeeeegggg!!!!

Leave Yul Edochie alone! If his wife was in agreement with him to pull that prank off, that’s their business. Na u carry body go put.
